Sec. State Em Chan Makara Sends Khmer New Year Wishes to the PM and First Lady

PHNOM PENH: The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, and Secretary-General of the Disability Action Council, Em Chan Makara, has sent good wishes and prayers to Prime Minister Hun Sen and First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen on the occasion of the Khmer New Year.

Secretary of State Em Chan Makara and his wife pray to the sacred objects of the world and new year deity to bring happiness to Prime Minister Hun Sen, First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen, and the Prime Minister’s whole family, as well as to bestow them with the four blessings of the Buddha: age, class, happiness, and strength.

It should be noted that this Khmer New Year’s main deity and guardian angel is Mimira Devi, the sixth daughter of Kabil MohaPhrum. She will become the new year deity at around 4 pm on Friday, 14 April 2023.
